SalesInView

At a glance, keep track of all the new business opportunities you are working on

What is SalesInView?

SalesInView is a flexible mobile app for iPhone/iPad that lets you track of all the potential pieces of work you need to turn into invoiced sales. They can be contracts, clients, products, shipments… whatever you think you need to work on.

SalesInView shows you instantly at what stage you are with each client, job or contract. It lets you decide the next follow up step and puts it into a to-do list. Tap on an action and it calls up the contact from your address book so you can call, email or text them.

You can decide on your own key steps to closing the deal, you can remind yourself of what you should be doing next and you can keep an eye on whether or not you have enough new business in your pipeline…even set yourself targets if you want.

All the best salespeople will tell you that managing your prospects is the best way to grow sales. This clever little app simply reminds you of what you need to next. SalesInView has been developed with the help of sales trainers and entrepreneurs who know how to make the most out of opportunities that come their way.

Who is it for?

SalesInView is ideal if you are an independent contractor, a freelancer, an entrepreneur, a tradesman, a consultant or small business owner. It is for you to close deals rather than a reporting tool for the boss. In order to grow sales you need to remind yourself of the potential clients that are in your pipeline.

What does it cost?

SalesInView is totally free for the time being. There are no ads, no in-app purchases and no on-going payments. Please leave a kind review if you like it or let us know how it has helped you grow your business.

SalesInView is a flexible mobile app for iPhone/iPad. SalesInView that lets you track of all the potential pieces of work you need to turn into invoiced sales. They can be contracts, clients, products, shipments… whatever you think you need to work on. Ideal if you are a freelancer, a tradesman, a consultant or just about any kind of small to medium business.
SalesInView runs on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. It is supported on iOS 6 and above.
The price is currently US$4.99 (£2.99 in the UK). Please see the app store for the price in your local currency. We do not wish to offer a crippled or ad-filled version of SalesInView for free as our customers are better served by having a dedicated app that we can focus our development efforts on. The cost for SalesInView is about the cost of a fancy cup of coffee. It is a one-time cost and there are no plans to charge any ongoing subscription.
SalesInView is only available on iPhone and iPad. We are an independent developer and do not have start up funding or any angel investment. As such, we want to provide the best possible user experience with the resources we have available so have decided to stick with the Apple products.
There is a suspected issue with the Typo at the point where the numeric keyboard shows for input causing the app to hang. The keyboard functionality of SalesInView has been fully tested on many devices themselves (not with Typo keyboards connected however) and we’ve had no other reports of any issues with normal operation. The app itself doesn’t make any non-standard calls nor does it change the base operations from Apple. It’s possible that it’s doing something that the Typo keyboard doesn’t like. iOS and the Typo do have some interoperability issues. Therefore, we are unable support the Typo at this stage.
There is not a web app and we have no plans to develop one as it is too costly without startup funding and there are many security concerns. The kind of sales information that SalesInView is used for is very sensitive and even the biggest sites get hacked.
Not presently but we do plan to develop a desktop app for MacBooks and other Apple machines.
Yes we have a tutorial and video which you can access from the home page.
Not presently but we do plan to add that functionality in a future update.
SalesInView uses the device's address book to allow you to make calls and send email from the app. It also makes life easier so you don’t have to enter contact information in two places.
Yes your data is private. Only people who have direct access to your device can see your sales information. The data is stored only on the device where the app is installed. You can export your data to a csv file and share it with people you trust or keep it safe as a backup.
Yes. You can create a csv file for export or backup. This is emailed to you.
You can export your data to a csv file and share it that way. SalesInView has been designed for independent business people in mind so the data is self-contained.
Not yet but we do plan to add that functionality very soon.
If you have a question or problem with SalesInView, you can read through our tutorials and FAQs to quickly find some answers. If you cannot find the answer here, you can contact us directly via the contact form on the home page. You can also email us from within SalesInView. And we'd love to hear from you if you have any feedback or suggestions for features.

Backlog

The SalesInView master plan containing the work to be done

What is the backlog?

In software development there is a project management framework called Agile which engages the customer throughout and helps evolve and adapt the product. It’s about making quick continuous improvements in collaboration with the customer. You may know of it.

This page is the backlog of user stories for SalesInView. In very simple terms, a ‘story’ is a piece of work to be done. This could be a feature or a bug or just general maintenance. The backlog represents the full list of stories that are to be done.

Sponsor a story

In commercial software development there is usually a client or investors funding on-going development. Independent app developers don’t often have that luxury.

I hope SalesInView has helped you close deals that otherwise may have slipped through the net. I want it to be useful. Would you like to contribute to the on-going development of SalesInView by sponsoring a story that you’d like to see implemented? Each story could be funded by one or more sponsor.

I plan to add a realistic costing to each story and links to show its list of sponsors and level of funding achieved. It’s similar to crowd-funding but for much smaller chunks of work in an existing free product. Please don't hesitate to contact us via the contact form if you’d like to sponsor a story or if there’s something you’d really like to see in SalesInView that’s not on the backlog.

Of course I will self-sponsor stories as I am able to do so in my time off from my day job.

Releases and updates

When a story is fully funded, I will add that to the current ‘Sprint’. A Sprint is just a phase of active development that contains one or more stories selected from the backlog. Sprints usually have fairly strict and fast schedules for release.

When I complete a Sprint, I will release it to the app store and/or the website. Releases to the app store will be available as an update for you to download as soon as approved by Apple.

I plan to add links to show the progress of each story and Sprint summaries. I’ll do this as I go along.
